Technical Support Inc. (“TSI”) is committed to the elimination of Conflict Minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (“DRC”) or adjoining countries (“the Conflict Region”) from its supply chain. Electronic components contain various metals – tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold (“Conflict Minerals”) that are sourced worldwide including the Eastern provinces of the DRC. Armed militias profit from the trade of these metals in the DRC and nearby countries in the Conflict Region.
As part of this policy, TSI will work with its supply chain regarding the origin and traceability of minerals contained in its products. TSI encourages its suppliers to adopt similar policies with respect to Conflict Minerals to ensure that the specified metals are being sourced from mines or smelters which have been certified by an independent third party as “conflict free.”
TSI, as a purchaser, is far removed from the mining of the Conflict Minerals. TSI does not purchase raw ore or unrefined Conflict Minerals and does no purchasing in the Conflict Region. TSI acquires parts and material from various suppliers and does not knowingly procure any parts or material containing Conflict Minerals from the Conflict Region. TSI has, in good faith, asked certain of its suppliers that are likely to produce products that contain Conflict Minerals to provide a completed Conflict Minerals Reporting Template as prescribed by the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition.
TSI has been unable to determine whether or not the Conflict Minerals contained in the products it assembles were from recycled or scrap sources or whether or not such Conflict Minerals directly or indirectly financed or benefited armed groups in the Conflict Region.
